We left the house yesterday to get the bus due to some confusion we were a couple of hours early at the bus stop so were reading and the bus went right on by, was so annoying that it did not stop we had our bags and everything but if you don't wave they don't stop.
Waited 20 mins and got the next one, the airport had concrete bollards placed outside and policemen with machine guns patrolling.
Easy flight to Ireland and then got a bus to our B & B, very nice although we have twin beds
assume that it was the only room left. Photo herewith.
Went for a long walk in the rain to find food and finally had a nice meal in a really nice old fashioned pub, sadly it gave me stomach cramps within 10 mins of eating so was very uncomfortable for the next 2 hours ( I wonder if there had been some meat in there or cooked in fat )
ooww anyway.
This morning dawned gray and wet so we got a bus to town center and then a double decker hop on hop off bus tour of Dublin. Was interesting the driver sings and keeps up a commentary's the whole way. We went right round and then back to what we wanted to see. In this case it was the
prison that had been restored. Amazing place the cells are tiny.
The guide was a very intense republican supporter. The cells were tiny and at worst the 1 person cells had 8 people no beds and no sanitation lovely... and
no glass in the windows as fresh air is good for convicts encouraging them to go straight.
Was familiar from films that have used the 4 story inner cell block as sets for movies.
Love the accents.
cheers j
