The sun shone brightly today, shame I was at work for most of it. Did manage a walk to the village at lunchtime. P had no work today so had a nice potter about. When I got home we went for a walk to discover they have started on the beach.. I know it is a bit odd but they are building a beach on paving at the edge of the river. They have trucked in sand and built changing sheds and are supplying deck chairs. The sand will be 2 mtrs above the edge of the river side ( and you would never swim in it anyway as its full of silt from the high tidal flow, it scours out the riverbed every day so is always brown and muddy) I wonder how long the sand will last before it is blown away, probably into the water... still is very handy for us being at the end of our street and across the road. I will have to buy a bucket and spade.
Had a look at airfares for holidays when C is over in January, all the free ones , yes free return to about 9 places and that includes all taxes, have to travelled before 31 October. I guess we keep checking for later in the year. I can get us to Barcelona for 50pound return so that's not bad.
The flower is my replacement for the lillies that have faded to stalks now.
