Ghent as below is a lovely city I recommend it. Lots of canals and cafes.The streets are car free which is a bonus.
A nice sunny day so we had Belgium waffles in the sun a boat trip along the canals and then as in a posh restaurant for dinner. I think we lowered the tone with P's flip flops. We stayed here three days as a last relaxing part of the holiday.
We had a day trip to Brugges on the train but I think Ghent is nicer as not as crowded with tourists.
