Back in Bristol

Easy flight back and here we are. It seems a lot colder dropping down from 35-40 to 18-22deg. Luckily our apartment is always warm but a bit of a shock when you get out and they are wearing coats! ( better today tho).
The photo is of a painting from Monte Cassino Abbey that I bought back with me.

Got the car started ( the property manager had started it each week for us to keep battery ok ) and did the supermarket shop. It seems odd being able to understand what is being said even if it is with a strong Bristol accent. The first impression is that the the people here are fatter and worse dressed than in Italy. When they go to town in Italy ( esp the evening walk when they shut the street and we all strolled elegantly about) they always dressed up, even high heels a lot of the time ) in Bristol it is more dress down and throw it on.
Still nice to be home.

Decided with winter coming on I won't get to walk as much and so I have invested in a Swiss ball, but it is called a core ball and comes with stretchy attachments on both sides so you sit on or in front of the ball and do exercises. Seems good so far can feel the muscles working.

Also photos of my new coffee maker ( a caffatteria) a wee stove top percolator that our Italian friends gave us as a going away present. It brews as quickly as the kettle, so we get our tea and coffee at the same time. It makes a minute amount just enough for the two tiny cups that came with it, I have it with a smear of milk in a bigger cup.

Photo of our rearranged lounge, we now have a work side of the room and all the cables go along the wall instead of across the middle of the room.

Today P went off to job agencies and then we drove to Backwell school for my visit.
Seems a really nice place the support staff that I met were most welcoming and they are keen to have me there to get their pay sorted ( I got Gordano for 0% to 86% complete so there is hope).
It is an easy drive and 10 minutes on straight roads, none of the windy village lanes that I had last term. The photo is the pub we had lunch in the "Dew drop Inn"

This weekend we get :
The International Kite Festival, really huge ones and inflatables ( check the web page )and fighting kites

And the Organic Food festival

So that will keep us entertained.
