fest day 1

we started the day getting a library card ( about 15 mins) real people now and it is about 2 minutes away.

then into town where we saw 3 shows at the festival

A sample one that was bits of 4 shows, 2 good and 2 very bad, then we got tickets for free from a street and it was an excellent show Health and Stacy, with the most amazing set with trees that were cupboards and things in the false floor, just 2 people but they were great.

then a wander about then we went to see the MC from the first show do an hour show and as we were in the front row we got picked on for being a couple, from NZ and a vegetarian... I was a part of a lot of it! good natured tho.

town is a riot of people. It is nice just wandering about average of 300 shows a day. the students get free show entry and accommodation in return for working all week they do box office , hand out flyers, organise clean toilets, queues and rubbish pickup... some jobs better than others.
Went to the big upside down purple cow tent. with so many shows they are using most of the university and every available hall.

we have a free show next week ( a top show that we used a voucher from the local paper to get free ) and will try for more of them and 2 for ones, half price etc being poor unemployed people.
tomorrow is a big day 200,000 people at the Meadow park, a parade and possible a show.
The tattoo is on as well so masses in town for that and we had fireworks from the castle as part of it.
Can think of a lot of worse places to be right now!
