Up the hill

Faye and I went up the hill to the ruined castle and church ( the original St Thomas Acquinas church).
It was a bit of a hike about 5 kms and once it got a bit steep on the path got narrow Faye had to stop as her knees were jelly, but she got a lot further than either of us expected. The view from the top was amazing the whole of the Liri Valley.
On the tops was a whole ruined village, they build so high up and so defensively I can only assume they were attacked alot. And they had to be above the mosquito line!

Walked back down , recovered, went to the local village for a coffee and then walked home.

Went to tea with Christine and Lorenzo it was lovely to catchup after a year and wee Rachele seems just the same, cute as ever.

I Got to drive home down the narrow windy streets in the dark that was a first for me some corners are so narrow it takes a 2 point turn to get round them.

Today P is off with and italian friend to the hills and Faye and I are walking to another village then tomorrow it is the early train to Roma.
