We had a lovely trip away to the "the town of books" it has the most second hand book shops in one town in the UK. We went via Gloucester and its lovely cathedral and nicely developed Harbour area. The rape was in full bloom and we got some lovely photos of yellow.
Ross on Wye, and then Hay.
We found a good B & B and then hit the book shops, half of Hay in England and Half in Wales... the Welsh half has free dentists and prescriptions and the English half have to pay.... hard to make that choice then.
Lots of lovely books on all subjects, P spent all his time in the Italy campaign area and spent the next day there as well just changing shops.

I text a woman I used to work with that I knew was doing a Barn conversion in Hay and by a stroke of luck she was in Hay and at a pub only 200mtrs away..... spooky. We spent the evening with her and her husband and a friend from Shanghai.
The next morning we drove to see the conversion which is a stone shell with a huge pile of concrete rubble in front. A huge amount of work before it is livable, they had to move 4 feet of cow poo for a start as this was the barn the cows wintered in. P quite definite that he is not the build from scratch type of
guy. Then back to the book shops for another 4 hours and then away home.
Stopped at a lovely Norman Keep and Home and then went home via Abergavenny.
New man starts at work tomorrow so I can give half my job away..
