Oxford

some lovely photos of our time in Oxford.
Amazing buildings, history, University. We had C and O with us for the first day and then took them to their contiki hotel, what a dreadful trip that was, peak traffic and pouring rain with lightning and thunder. I was driving and the cars were all going 70mph even in the bad conditions. Made it safely and then left them to check in and we had a nice Indian meal then met them again so O could phone his parents on my phone, thought they might like to know he arrived safely. They are both getting less jet lagged tho C still getting tired very easily.
We then headed back to Oxford this time P drove and it was a breeze hardly any traffic and no rain... it is all in the timing.
Next morning Had a wonderful look around and the tour took us into 2 of the colleges, Jesus and New College. What an amazing life the student have, they live in the colleges, don't have lectures all the learning is in tutorials of 1-4 students with the tutor, once or twice a week. They have to produce and essay on the current topic and then argue/discuss their reasoning.
Students everywhere, 39 colleges, 20,000 students . Christ College was the biggest ( and the most visited as it's dining hall was the inspiration for Harry potters Hogwarts. They all have chapels and dining halls and rooms for the students and the tutors in the one compound, you learn where you live not in a central university. All good, maybe C can come here for post Grad degree.
Then a 2 hour drive in lots of traffic ( after getting a parking ticket) and now safely in Bristol , washing on and ready to sleep and then work tomorrow.
