London day 2

Late start as we all slept in , Then P off to the Imperial War Museum, C O and I went to EAT for breakfast ( nice porridge with banana and maple syrup ) then off to the Tower of London.
What an amazing and huge place, we tagged along with a tour until C got ill and had to go sit down for a while, she is still very weak and the effects of meningitis are lingering. We still spent 3 hours checking out the tower where all the prisoners were kept, the Crown jewels, some very nice diamonds etc would not let us try the crowns on tho....37 soldiers ( Beefeaters) and their families live within the walls, the whole place is locked down at 9.00pm so they have their own Dr within the walls. All the beefeater's were serving soldiers, our guide was in Spandau guarding Hess after the war for 2 years.

The we got the underground ( after successfully getting C smacked by the closing door) by the end of the day they were old hands at the Circle Line, northern line dashing between platforms etc.
We went to Piccadilly Circus, then down Regent st to Carnaby street for a drink in a cafe. A bit of shopping and then Oxford st and then home.

We met up with P and went to Hoxton Square and a Tapas restaurant, big success as the lots of little dishes of different foods went down a treat. Then C & O crashed in their room and P and I went for a walk around the area, lots of huge office blocks.
More tomorrow.
