More

Hello all
Well all the feedback from Europe has been very happy, They have been to Amsterdam, Dachau concentration camp, the Anne Frank museum, A beer fest in Munich, Innsbruck in Austria, then 2 days in Rome with a tour round the Vatican, down to the crypts and up on the roof of St Peters ( they must be feeling well and strong as its a climb up windy stone stairs), Venice with a gondola ride and the luck to be there for the opening of Carnival with all the masks and costumes and tonight in Florence.
The visits to Lucerne in Switzerland then Paris and London on Saturday.
Meanwhile P and I have been working hard, the Monday was a train complain day and when I arrived at the station I was handed a trick ticket ( photo herewith) which they wanted us to use and annoy and shame the train company which has gone up in price and down in service.
I noticed a lot of extra police and that the reaction to the tickets was to not let any one onto he trains with them so I used my weekly rail pass instead.

I had the day on London today ( Tuesday) for a conference on Funding in schools all about how to access Trusts and Grants etc to spend on the school and community projects.
Met some lovely people and where I staying might be keen to have a go at some of the over 1 billion available each year.
The first person I sat by was from St Mary Redcliff Church school , what a coincidence my local and the only school name I recognised from the 200 delegates.
It was a long day starting at 6am and home again at 7.30. I was waiting at Paddington station for the platform to show on the screen and when it did 100 people started to run, all these black suits types sprinting for the train. When I got on I realised why, whereas I had paid 24pd for the trip and had an assigned seat a lot had not , at least 30 were santing in my carriage alone. Took at least an hour of stops and letting people off before everyone had a seat.

Don't you love the egg carton with the allergy warning " contains eggs ".
And my lovely lilac hyacinth.

Hi Jude
I loved reading your "MORE" posting, and wondered if our pHIL is sprinting to the train in his business suit - as you described - who knows - you may pass him in London and not know. He's doing well and has had the chance to go to Portugal, Spain and Germany since he and his partner arrived in London last September. Wish he would do a blog like yours - just love reading it. Having a wonderful summer here in Nelson - lots of festivals and swims, bbqs etc. Don't worry UK will eventually have a Summer. Take care all of you and love from Judy and Paul T xxx
