I went to a posh clothes sale on Saturday which was very good,
it is a fundraiser for women's cancer research. I got a Diane von Furstenburg sun dress ( on web at us$345 ) I got it for £10.00 and a cotton one £5 and a bag for $5 ,all very nice good and 2 cup cakes for him.
Then we headed to town as there was a birthday party in our back garden section ie both the landlady Claire and Ken had their birthdays on the same day, They had slides and lawn jenga and lawn chess etc and they had use of our badminton setup on the lawn
We pottered in town and had drinks at an outdoor pub.. a very warm day so quite pleasant.
Sunday we did a long walk up to the radio tower and had lunch at the golf course cafe up there,, watched a few hopeless golfers tee off ( £799 for years membership and I have no clubs so guess not)
then back down and off to the quiz where as always we do really well except for the music round which is worth double points and we get about 2 right as it all a bit modern for us oldies.
No swine flue practice for us ( unlike NZ Dept of Conservation who are having practice working at home days) Hilary's daughter in NZ on a bus tour had to stay in an old mental asylum on the west coast for 2 days as 2 of the tour got sick and they wanted to test them. The food was delivered to the gate by a van that opened the door threw the food out then drove off. not the best intro to NZ
Claire tells me lots of snow in Dunedin and the city closed up for the day. 21deg here
