A sunny Saturday

Last night we went for a walk in the city centre and went to an art gallery, showing new works by local artists. There were some really nice works and some you really would not give house room. then off to watch the rugby ( as he has been working the last 2 days we even had a meal and a beer) watched the south Africa England game what a disaster for the home crowd they went very quiet.

Saturday dawned sunny and warm so we walked up White Ladies hill and did some window shopping. We watched half the NZ Portugal game but then they had to switch to an Everton soccer match so we left. Had intended to watch the Aussi Wales game but stopped off at a gourmet burger cafe and met a couple from Balclutha ... small world. They have lived in UK for 6 years, different places in the UK and then to Bristol . We had a great chat about life and Bristol and swapped contact numbers so hope to catch up with them again maybe a bring a plate BBQ, they don't seem to do that over here.

Then a wander through the museum to look at the Egyptian exhibition and I also looked at paintings and rocks and silverware ( himself got stuck on the prehistoric era and never moved ) we have this whenever we go to this sort of place as I cover the ground quickly any stopping for things that look interesting whereas he reads every card. They had some eally nice early painting of the "Bristol school" all the people in them had round shiny faces and there was a lot of social comment pictured.
The lovely picture on the right is himself watching the Georgia / Ireland game , He was doing the dishes and watching on the big screen in the flat on the other side of the square. We had the radio commentary on but it was a bit delayed so got the cheers after the scores etc.
