A colder week here in Autumn's Bristol, the leaves are turning and it feels like Dunedin in winter sort of air temperatures at 8.00 when I leave for work. ( not this picture it is an Italy and off my phone)
Have some nice but blurry photos of the indoor cricket world champs, 1 they kept moving and 2 they were taken on my phone. One show them having a drinks break where they hold the bottles up to holes in the netting and they all drink like calves.
This week I have been offered another job at Wyvern school ( the one P hates most for its bad kids, but I wont see them) sadly it is in Western Super Mare so a longer drive about 45 mins or I am tempted to take the train and avoid traffic and frosts etc instead read my book.
Bit of drama with the car was driving to work stopped at lights and thought the bus beside me was blowing a lot of smoke, closer inspection it was coming from under my bonnet...
pulled over and rang P for the AA number.. then decided that as there was a garage 500 mtr up the road I would go there. Turns out the radiator has rusted and all the water had gone! filled it up and up and up and then I drove off to
school.
Quote is 186pound for a repair so now I carry 2 large bottle of water, and himself put some radiator stop leak in it so will see how it goes. ( another reason to take the train)
He has joined the masses and had taken a job at Lloyds bank , he will be a suit wearer surrounded by 2000 other suit wearers. He is checking the bonuses of the salesmen to make sure all ok before they are paid. ( one guy had 38,000 bonus in one month)
Not very challenging and pays half a supply teacher but it is regular income , handy to home and he will have people to talk to, as teachers don't talk to supply teachers,it is only till December. Will be nice to have some $$ coming in and he is weekly which helps with mine being monthly.
Got my first pay I got 800pound for 1 weeks work ( the tax was only 44 pnd so I guess that will change a lot soon)
Had a nice walk about the shops this morning and bought a pair of fluff lined boots (aka ugg
boots type ) for 8pd so prob not NZ sheepskin thoses ones are 70pd but will do for walks in the evening. And a nice fluffy dressing gown.
Went out to the Fish Market pub and had Thai massuman curry and a wine , and watched the England Tonga rugby, sadly I got a bit sick feeling not sure red wine and curry go and it was very crowded and hot so I did a sprint for the door and went home.
Sunny today so off for a walk . might try out the new boots.
