I have done two weeks in my new job and it is manic but enjoyable.
now two weeks in London to visit schools and pack to move.
yesterday I had two important meetings ( the reason I am in London packing is a bonus)
got up dressed and off to the station in the rain and the trains were cancelled for the next hour!
checked my travel app and the buses would take an hour and ten to the same place ( Bromley south) so no point as next train said it would come in an hour
rang my appointment, a man from KPMG, he was already there ( we were meeting in Pub in Bromley as it was next to train station... it would have coffee and tables and should be alright on a Wednesday at 12.00?)
finally the office girl arrived in the train station looked up her screen and said they were putting on a replacement train in ten mins
so we headed down
sure enough a train came but it didnt stop just went straight through
nothing on the electronic signs to say anything was due
tried the info booth the man said a train coming
again it went straight through
then the sign said next train will be straight through and it stopped!
I made it to the meeting only 15 mins late in the end instead of 15 mins early
A quite productive meeting but man was ex audit so very dry
Finished meeting and on to the train to the next station
off and wandering about looking for the man I had a photos of
nothing... nothing...
then a big 4x4 car stops and a blonde woman calls out are you Judi Rowe?
turns out my man was in hospital and his phone alarm went off and reminded him of our meeting so he sent her
She was the perfect person, had all the answers and was happy to share ( good considering they are our competitors in the market of academy conversions)
so a messy day but success overall.
home at 6pm
