I am Project Manager for a multi academy trust and my remit is the new primary schools. One is a completely new school in a new building, one is refurbishing a Victorian grammar school and one is demolishing an existing school and building a new one double the size. Very busy lot of meetings and lots of complications but great fun.
We took two months off last year and went on a tour, started in Nice meeting our NZ friends shirl and len, joining Claire and Blair there we all stayed in a big villa with pool. For a week we at drank and explored the area.
The others went back to NZ and london and p and I headed off. First stop was camping the the italian beach Levanto , we took our own tent and gear with us. We did the cinque terra walk along the coast very hot and beautiful scenery. Then headed around the North of Italy and into croatia .
We went on a. Gondola and looked down over the valley.

We stayed in camping grounds , farm stays, B and B and home stays, and hotels and apartments.
Excellent way to spend two months.
Back at work and then this February I slipped on some ice and broke my arm , first break ever was a bit of a shock.
The after that I had some symptoms that were a bit worrying and the result is that on Wednesday I am heading into hospital for an anterior resection. They are worried that I have bowel cancer and are taking a foot of my bowel out and sewing the ends together . The biopsy will come through a week later but they have already removed the offending 6inch lump. I will be in hospital for five days then 8-10 weeks off work while it all knits back together.
Glad I wasn't planning the two months travel this year would have been very unhappy not to be able to go.
We are still planning to go to NZ for December but are waiting to book the flights.
A blog of two halves really.
I

We drove back through Germany some amazing scenery in the mountains.
