P and and drove to Leeds after a nice few days in London and collected a van filled it, with a few issues like the back door not locking and we had to get the AA out at midnight.
We managed to get all our belongings in and the next morning we headed off, me in the car and P in the van.
A long trip later we arrived and B and C helped carry it all up stairs. Sadly when we returned the van the rental place was shut ( even thought the sign on the gate said they would be open). many phone calls later the only place we could return it was Gatwick airport or be charged for 2 more days rent as no one opened on Sunday.. much grumbling but P and B drove there and got a train back finally getting in about 10.00pm P was a very tired man.
Because P and I own our own mattress we have it on top of the one supplied by the landlord, we have a really high leap to get into bed but it is very comfy when there.
A couple of day of unpacking and mucking about. Then P and I decided to have a holiday and went to Rye and Hastings down on the coast.
It was cold with lots of winding cobbled street, very old houses and stony beaches.
Next day we went to Battle where the battle of Hastings was fought where Harold got shot in the eye. But is was shut..... they had a reenactment last year and it had ruined the battlefield so they were fixing it. So we pottered about the town. Headed off to a castle but it was shut so at the point gave up and just drove to the coast and looked at the expanse pebbles they call a beach over here.
Another night in the hotel another nice meal out.
Next day back to London.
Claire, Perry and I started work on the Monday and all really enjoyed it. My workmates are really nice people. There is lots to be done and the days fly by. Claire is on to her second marketing campaign and is loving it and they love her so all good there. Perry is not convinced that his new school will change their ways as much as he thinks they should.
Travel always a topic here, I walk 0.1 miles to my work
Claire gets the train takes 40mins no changes
Perry drives to Basildon 1hr 10mins
Blair sits on the sofa but will be starting next week with Deutschbank.
At the weekend we went to Southbank and the Whole food market amazing and fabulous food, we had lunch and bought goodies for dinner.
We then went and watched the buskers, a man who could fold himself in half and a man blowing giant bubbles were the favorites. see photos.
