London

Claire and I traveled down to London for interviews, her the third for her marketing job this time a presentation to the board on which she worked for a week. I also had an interview at a nursery school as a school business manager.
I arrived half an hour early and spent the time waiting in the Head's office reading picture books and rearranging the soft toys.
The interview was with 6 women and I did a presentation on crowd funding and a test on analyzing their budget. Seemed to go well. I had decided to only apply for primary and nursery schools and not secondary as the secondaries over here are massive and too much night, weekend work and hassle......
Claire and I met up and both felt good about the day. We met Blair at Canary wharf and had meal and a drink. I got a call from the chair of governors offering me the job...  yeah first job means I choose where we live. ( that was the fairest way we could come up with.)

Happily we headed off to our travelodge.
Next day we visited all the estate agents in the Brockley area where my school is and left our details. Blair is staying London as he has masses of interviews and it is easier to be there, ( sleeping on his aunties couch)
Met a really nice estate agent  who said he would let us know and Blair could go view them.

By Tuesday night Claire still hadn't heard and was getting a bit stressed . Perry has some interest but nothing certain.
Finally on Wednesday Claire got the call and got the job. yeaahhh.

Then it was our last week and P went away down to London for two interviews in one day, one in Basildon, a state school that the inspectors said that needed data help, and one in Ealing a private girls school ( Notting Hill girls ( yes in Ealing it moved from Notting hill)

On Wednesday it snowed and snowed and he was due on the bus at 6.15. we closed the school at 2.30 and left at 3.00, we then slid home in bumper to bumper traffic and didn't get home till 6.15.
oops still thought it worth taking him to the bus station luckily the bus was late due to snow. So he headed off to London arriving at midnight.
Next day off an hour one way for the interview and then into the middle of London and then a hour the other way. Half way through the second they rang to say he had the first one.
So we now have three jobs out of four.
Blair went and looked at flats over the weekend but all were horrible.
Finally got a call from the agent we liked best and managed to negotiate for a flat that we all like. Blair went and looked and phoned from there.

Two big bedrooms and a private garden, we go and sign up on Monday after sending masses of reference stuff away, Good thing Perry got his job as we only had 48 hours to get the confirmation..

Finally Friday rolled round and we had a farewell in the staff room, by a fluke they were doing new sample menus for the school canteen so we had a huge turnout lots of whom thought we put on the food. The deputy head said all sorts of lovely things and all day we got presents dropped off. It was meant to be a six week placement and lasted 15 months.
Then off to the pub with the staff... laughs, drinks, songs, chat and too many beers for Perry. We ended up at a local Bradford bar where they all seemed to know each other and decided that having started at 1pm and it was now 11 that we should go home. (Taxi Bradford to Leeds £20 )
P hungover the next day and I had to drive him to hockey as his blood alcohol still a bit high... they didnt win.
golf lessons tomorrow then off to London Monday, we had booked to go down to flat hunt but now we have one we will  enjoy a few days off.
