Italy 2012 Post 2

Day three and we arrived at Kay's place in Caprile and were early so headed for the local bar for a wine.
We were eventually met there by Kay and Paul ( a UK historian there for the same walk as we had come for).
Track at wartime
All four of us were staying at Kays ( a NZer that moved to Italy 5 years ago).

Next day up early and off to walk the Inferno Track. It has changed a bit since the war and was very overgrown and masses of fallen rocks and trees. It was a real adventure and a lot of fun. Took about 5 hours to get from top to bottom. We were Paul, Perry, Damiano ( Italian friend) Marisa  ( Damianos girlfriend ) and me.

We really needed a machete.

Finally made it to the bottom and a much needed drink. We went to Damiano' home for a lovely meal afterwards. ( all vegetarian as well as he and Merisa are both veges)
More tomorrow.
