We hired a couple of bikes ( Boris's bikes free if under 30 mins and there are return slots every 500m so you just keep swapping if you are on a longer trip) and went for a ride along the waterfront to the London Eye where it got to crowded.
Went to the Tate modern which had a lot of installations and art that were too clever for me.
Friends arrived on the 30th ( 2 couples ) and we spent the next day at the Museum of London and then home for dinner. We then went to the Fireworks display, had to stand for 3 hours on the bridge over the Thames but it was worth it we had the best view.
Sadly it rained twice and while we were sitting on the bridge under our brollies
some numpty kicked over a beer can and we got wet. It was a long time to stand in one place....
Then it was New Year and lots of cheers and the fireworks were amazing.
Then we headed off back to Camberwell and it was no surprise that the buses were packed so we walked home. A late night drink chat and nibbles and then off to bed about 2am.
Next day up and off to the parade, odd selection 30 american high school marching band
s interspersed with very amateur floats from the London boroughs.
Again it rained ( see sad people on a wall photo) and we headed off for a meal and then the others headed back to Bath.
Next mornng up and cleaning packing and training back to Leeds
.
A great time away
some nice cats, the bengal one I would have kept so cuddly.
