Back from London Back to work, we are both still working at a school in Bradford.
I am Finance Manager and Perry is Data manager. Pain being in Bradford as we live near the centre of Leeds. It is only 10 miles but takes us 45 minutes due to traffic queues.
P trying to play hockey but the pitch was frozen for two weekends in a row.
We went to Buxton last weekend a lovely town, quite small, very picturesque. It is where they bottle Buxton water and is the centre of walking in the Peak District.
It was freezing cold and windy.
Arrived at the Palace Hotel a grand old place with a central double staircase.
no it was not snowing when we were there but this is the hotel. We ate in the hotel that night and it was very nice. Next day we went to an Antiques fair ( nice and warm in the Pavilion.
Then we went for a stroll about the town, through the Crescent ( which is empty and awaiting refurbishment) and through the museum.
Out for dinner at a posh hotel and then to a cocktail bar and deciding to make a night of it so we went to a local bar and squeezed in with the crowd, and then it shut at 10.30...
so we gave up and went back to the hotel.
Another huge breakfast from the buffet in the morning and we headed off to the local book barn and had a good rummage.
Then home through the lovely countryside, I was amazed to see walkers out and about in the freezing wind and occasional rain.
