the long and windy road

That is windy ( wiggly ) not windy ( blowy) if you get my drift.Maybe should be winding anyhoo We walked from Keynsham to Bath. ( we got the train there so as to have a one way journey.)
The day dawned cold and wet and never improved but I had been at my desk ( and there is not much of a walk to get there from home)
and had had 3 long days working late so needed to blow away the dust. We headed off and after not finding the right path headed off on the one we had.... through paddocks of cows and bulls
along the canal side. we saw fishermen and a man practicing tacking in his yacht, not much choice in a canal, had to turn
more than got straight.
We stopped at a pretty pub and had a coffee and welsh cheeses and crackers, then headed off into the rain again. Really it was drizzle rather than heavy rain and we had coats and brollies anyway. We also saw a steam train go by.
It took 4 hours and we were glad to be home.
This week has been a bit noisy at school as a local gifted and talented holiday programme has been there, but they finished today.
Tonight we had the neighbourhood meeting to introduce the Contractors for the new building, About 15 people came and there no hard
questions so it was good to get it out of the way.
Both P and i are trying to do our blogs and the Internet just can not cope.
Lat night we went on a tour of the drains and early toilet systems of Bath from Roam times to the late 18th Century. It was bucketing down so we all stood about under our brollies trying to hear the guide ( it was a new walk being trialled and we went with David who does guiding at the weekend and his wife Hilary from my work). It was actually very interesting but the pub at the end was very welcome.
We ate our first tomato from the glasshouse yesterday yummy....
Bath has a lot of apple trees , we have 4 in our yard and three pear trees. The apples are nearly ripe what will we do with them all, cider maybe as it is an awful lot
of apple crumble.
