Two trips

We are off to London on Friday, leaving at 11.56 then 7 hours in a sleeper on the train. Will it be some romantic journey like an old movie or the fact that our beds are called upper and lower a subtle hints that bunks might be involved... not the orient express.

We arrive at 7am and head off to do research for P, and that is what we do until the next Saturday when we fly back to Edinburgh. We do get the Sunday off. And after much searching.. (all day good thing I am not working).. to get the travel there and back at a budget to suit a one income family, I also managed to get a nice hotel in Docklands for the whole time at 50% off.

Bigger news, we have a house sit in Portugal... yeah... a months free accomodation and as I have no job and P hates his ( which runs out in March anyway) we might as well live somewhere free. And it could be worse than Portugal. We have to mind 4 dogs ( I am glad to say they are miniture collies and so cute, I had one when I was int he 7th form) and a parrot.
As you can see even though it is in a mountain village it is not at all rustic, and we get the use of a car to go sight seeing.
We head off on the 14th March which is spring in Portugal ( still winter in Scotland!).

The couple we are sitting for are English and she and I have emailed daily and get on really well.

They have said that at the end of the house sit we can stay on in the apartment under the house for as long as we want! So we might stay a while and have a good look around then we head to Italy for more research. Portugal will take the place of the Greek island trip as having not much £££ coming in we could not afford to do it properly.

Now somehow we need to catch up with Glenda and Russell who will be on this side of the planet while we are there....

P has finally written his Highlands blog.
