Lee valley

This weekend p and I headed off to the lee valley, a long park that goes from London 25 miles into the countryside.
After a couple of phone calls from Debbie redirecting us we found our chalet. A beautiful setting by a canal side. It was wooden with a small kitchen lounge and two bedrooms. The double had been taken by debs and Steve and the other one had a set of bunks...... So p and I shared a bottom bunk for two night, good thing we are quite slim.
The "chalet" was equipped for disabled persons so the bathroom had a giant chair on a swivel to lower you into the bath, it took up most of the room.

Fortunately the trip wasn't about being indoors and the next morning we got on our bikes and rode along canals and lakes for 6 miles there and back. It was nice and flat the best thing about canal paths and not too many people about so hassle free.  Debs and I were ready to give up on bike seats by the time we got back.

Day two we walked the other direction up the valley for five miles stopping at bird sanctuaries and boating lakes.
After a pub lunch we got the train back to the chalet and headed home at five.

Oh forgot to mention the train to sat stead airport ran along the back of the section and trains ran every seven minutes during the day not so bad at night  but I  needed earplugs.
