Leeds West Indian Festival

A wet day sadly for the parade but we went anyway.
A truck with huge sound system followed by women in costumes then another truck with huge sound system and a different song and more women  and so it went.  Good fun and luckily the rain eased off for so the participants didn't get totally soaked.

I think photos say it all.  link to all      photos

There were food stall all selling Jerk chicken and rice.
All sorts of West Indian knick knacks and a strong smell of "herbal tobacco" pervaded the air.

Shame it was raining it would have been a great picnic day
they whole thing was in the park that our new flat backs onto, I am glad we were not there yet as we could hear the music beating into the night from  our current flat half a mile away.

What amazing costumes - could you buy one at the end to take home, for wearing around the flat? (or maybe at work on a quiet day)
