We will miss all our friends in Bath but will stay in touch by email, skype and visits.
We did a tour around Wales to get to York, via Cardigan, Carnarveon and Chester. It was lovely Chester is a very nice city and we stayed in a period pub based on ww2.
Into the hotel near York and then 3 days of flat hunting. Had two we liked one both in Leeds one near centre city and one in Chapel Allerton, went for the Chapell Allerton one as it has lots of wee shops cafes and a library. The flat is a new build with a balcony and 2 bedrooms so should be nice. Signed up and then off to get the train to London and the riots.
We were in Kew so were well away from the action but we watched it on the telly each night.
We were thrilled to be offered a private tour of the Tower of London with a Yoeman of the Guard ( his wife worked with Perry) they have a house in the castle itself.
We got a private tour, to see the ceremony of the keys and then a visit to their home.
Then finally off to Gatwick and the long flights, stops in Dubai, Bangkok, Sydney each just long enough to get our carry on bags checked for bottles and then away.
Lots of movies later we arrived in Christchurch.
The first day there a polar blast came through and we were trapped in Christchurch for four days. we had a nice meal with the Rowes great to catchup with everyone and forced relaxation w
Then a look around the earthquake damage which was horrible such a lot of damage, I cant believe there are still portaloos and no water in some of the homes. Must have been aweful in the snow and no facilities. Finally got to Dunedin and a night with Linda then off to Naseby with Claire and Blair along for the weekend.
Dad's place under snow to knee deep. Having a lovely time, we went to the curling and walked in the snow yesterday and today we went sledging down the closest steep hill. aarrgghhhhhh
Photo of Paddy and Claire and Blair before they slid down the hill
