in Naseby

We had mum's funeral on Wednesday and it was a wonderful send off. The minister was a vicar of dibly type warm and friendly and happy to follow our lead on the style of funeral. My sister brother, dad and daughter sat and wrote mum's life story which was read out.

We had "Sometime" from West side story as we entered, the service with our "story" a poem by my brother, and Claire read her thanks for knowing mum, it was serious and funny and at the end made us all cry with her tribute to mum's enduring love for dad.

they then played over the rainbow by Eva Cassidy and we left the church, then the family put a flower each on the coffin and the hearse drove slowly out of Naseby.

it was a lovely farewell.

We then headed to the local fire station rooms and had all the guests for afternoon tea with beautiful food from the local cafe.

My cousins came down form North Canterbury and dropped by the night before and the night after, it was lovely to have them with us.

Cherrie and Warren headed back to Auckland and Adelaide and dad Claire and I settled in to eat all the food that has been dropped in and read all the cards.

thank you everyone for your thoughts, cards, flowers and kind wishes.

My friend Shirley had the most interesting day

left Wellington early,

We got a call from Claire's boyfriend to say the plane was circling and fog had closed the airport

then off to Invercargill went the plane and Shirl

then a bus back to Wiahola and she had to give up
thanks for trying Shirl see you soon.

She is trying again and we will meet up my last weekend in NZ, in Dunedin.
